When the disciples where in the storm, Jesus walked on water as if He were going to walk right past them.  It was when the disciples cried out that Jesus turned to them to help them.  Often during the storms in life we will fight hard against the waves but we will do it alone.  We forget that Jesus is there, waiting for us to cry out to Him and maybe even more incredulously – wanting us to cry out to Him.  Our time together will be an opportunity to share with one another the storms we are going through and to earnestly and eagerly cry out to Jesus for and with one another.

Verses:

Palms 18:6
In my distress I called upon the Lord;
    to my God I cried for help.
From his temple he heard my voice,
    and my cry to him reached his ears.

Luke 18:38-41

38 And he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” 39 And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover my sight.”

Psalm 145:18

The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
