Prayer Calls

Join us for our new monthly prayer call on our topic of the month. We partner with The Virtual Upper Room and the 1st Tuesday of every month will be our PCW topic. 7-7:15am – a prayer leader will pray about this topic – followed by personal prayer requests.

The Virtual Upper Room provides a weekly opportunity to listen to a united and focused prayer for 15 minutes. Each prayer is led by an individual with a heart for the topic. It reminds us of Christ’s commission to pray boldly and consistently in the power of the Holy Spirit.

April: How to reset when we fail

You’ve just failed – again.

It’s a demoralizing choice: languish in the pit of failure or fool ourselves into thinking we won’t fail again and try to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps.

What allows one person to build resilience through a sequence of failures and another to succumb to it?

There is a power source that lifts us up and pulls us out. The source is our relationship with Jesus.

We have one job in our moment of failure: Receive!

–       Receive grace

–       Receive mercy

–       Receive forgiveness

–       Receive love.

Did Jesus stop loving Peter when Peter denied Him?

Did God stop loving King David when David stole another man’s wife and committed murder?

More power than you can contain is available to pull you out of the pit of failure. You can’t and are not supposed to do it alone.

May: Our Ultimate Boss

 Ephesians 6:5 says

Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ (MSG)

How might we work differently if Christ was truly our Boss?

  • Would my work product look different?
  • Would my work attitude be more positive?
  • How would I treat others?
  • What might be in my Annual Performance Review – things I do well and where I need to improve?

Join us as we reflect on what might be different if we considered God as our ultimate Boss, the one we most want to please.

June: Conflict in the Workplace

Conflict is inevitable, most of us hate it,  and there is plenty of it at work.

And, as Christ’s followers,  we know that how we RESPOND to conflict in the workplace either sets us apart or makes us look like the world.  Jesus clearly experienced conflict in His life and had lots to say about it – which is not easy to hear:

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” Matthew 5:43-44

Jesus is always focused on forgiveness, love, and reconciliation. Just as He came into the world to resolve the conflict in our relationship with God,  so too does He want to help restore all our relationships.

Let’s explore how, in the midst of conflict, we can be women of peace and reconciliation.
