March: Finding Joy in Difficult Moments

Joy is a small word packed with mighty uplifting power. It can put into perspective even the most trying or painful moments.

As C.S. Lewis writes ‘Joy is the serious business of heaven.’

  • Joy elevates above the difficult moments.
  • Joy sustains in the tedious and trying moments.
  • Joy promises not relief but release of expectation and needs in the most excruciating moments.

Joy, as Karl Barth once wrote, is the simplest form of gratitude.

As we fellowship together, we will remind ourselves of the joy found in Christ alone. Joy draws us near to Him Who sustains each and every day.

April: Having Peace when the workplace is anything but peaceful

Jesus is our Prince of Peace and He dwells in us. We don’t have to fabricate peace. We don’t have to pretend we’re at peace. Instead, we access the peace that is already in us.

  • We remind ourselves that all things we are hearing, facing, or concerned about are temporal.
  • We remember that no authority is greater than God’s authority in our lives.
  • We encourage ourselves to step into this authority and, instead of getting hung up, intercede, pray, and lift up names and situations.
  • We resist the temptation to run and hide from the battles and instead, stand firm in the steadfastness that comes from remembering we are in Him and He is in us.

When we gather, we will testify to moments when we need peace or when we have felt peace. And our prayer is that each of us leaves with a deeper understanding of how to access His peace.
