These are deeply important issues for women – what should our response be? Do we feel the tug to slip into a “me too” mindset for the sake of a movement or trust in the ways of Jesus? The temptation to automatically adopt current issue mindsets is very real and can supplant the gospel message. Join us as we discuss how to stay deeply rooted in His love in our hearts to bring opportunity for true healing in our world.
Scripture Reference:
2 Corinthians 12:10
10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
John 15:18
18 If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.
Matthew 5:44
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.
2 Timothy 2:23-26
23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord’s servant[a] must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
Questions to consider:
- What kind of persecution have I personally experienced?
- As I grow in Christ, what am I learning about how I can respond to the taunts?
- What do I have to remember about who I am in Christ to help me be courageous?
- What message do I want to convey to those who stir up controversy?
